About the Panelists
- Elie Habib, Co-Founder & CTO of Anghami : Elie Habib co-founded Anghami in 2011 alongside the firm’s CEO, Eddy Maroun.“When we started in 2011 the biggest thing that we contributed to the [MENA] region and to everybody that came afterwards was education,” “We taught people what streaming is.”
Prior to launching Anghami, Habib was co-founder and CTO of PowerMeMobile, which operated in the mobile messaging market.
Elie holds a Master Degree in Software Engerineering from the Lebanese American University. - Walid Hanna (H.97), Founder & CEO, MEVP : Walid has been active in venture capital and new venture development for the past 20 years, successfully completed more than 50 VC investments in the past 9 years and several exits. Prior to founding MEVP, Walid was the CEO of "the Arab Business Angels Network" (ABAN), which managed a regional seed venture fund as well as the first Business Angels network in the Arab World. Prior to ABAN he has served on the investment-management team of Abraaj Capital. Walid has co-founded, invested in, led and exited several startups in the MENA region, spanning a range of industries with a focus on technology.
Walid holds a Bachelor's of Economics from McGill University (Canada), and a Master's in Finance from HEC. - Rabih I. Khoury, Chief Exit Officer, MEVP Rabih I. Khoury has extensive experience in private equity and advisory, having executed more than US$5 billion in transactions and raised more than US$2 billion in capital. Rabih I. Khoury currently serves on the Board of Directors of Palmboard Technology Holdings and the Advisory Board of Kalaam Telecom. Previously, Rabih I. Khoury was the Chief Executive Officer of DIC Emerging Markets, in charge of Dubai International Capital’s (‘DIC’) investment portfolio in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in addition to Turkey, Asia and Latin America. Rabih I. Khoury received his MBA from Columbia University and his MS in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering with Distinction from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

- Nicolas Boukather (H.07), President of HEC-Paris Lebanon Alumni Chapter, Board Member HEC-Paris Alumni: Nicolas is chairman of A.N.Boukather Holding with activities in the U.A.E and Lebanon into the fields of mobility, real estate and agriculture. He is member of the board of HEC Alumni-Paris, the Children Canter Center of Lebanon (CCCL), Endeavor and YPO. Nicolas is an OPM48 from Harvard Business School, holds an Entrepreneurship Masters from HEC- Paris, and a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut.

The landmark merger partnership with VMAC will position Anghami as the first Lebanese and Arab technology company to list on NASDAQ through a SPAC. The merger with VMAC is expected to close in June 2021 and Anghami will trade on NASDAQ under the ticker ANGH.
