About Kate Malone:

Kate Malone, RCA, MBE is one of the UK's leading ceramic artists. From studios in Kent and London; Malone works in three areas: Decorative Studio Ceramics, Public Art and Ceramic Glaze Research, thus making her artwork accessible to all. With an unmistakable and highly regarded style, “Inspired by the optimism and energy in nature.” Malones spent her career pioneering glaze techniques through research and experimentation, building the largest crystalline glaze archive in the UK.

In addition to her studio practice Malone's known as one of the two original judges on seasons 1 & 2 of the BBC’s ‘The Great Pottery Throw Down’. In 2019, awarded an MBE for services to ceramic art, Kate became the ceramic ambassador for the charity OnSide Youth Zones and created Firedup4. Firedup4 has a mission to give pottery studio access to young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Kate often speaks publicly of her belief in the benefits of learning craft skills as part of a basic education for every child."
