We are delight to announce the next HEC event on June 14th at La Cabane (桃江路1-2号,近东平路 / 1-2, Taojiang road (near Dongping Road).


For this event we will have the pleasure to host Marc Idelson who will make an evening talk.

The topic will be:

A Sino-Western comparison of ethics: how Chinese and Western thinkers value and face dilemmas differently.

This will be followed by a seated dinner (menu in document gallery).

Marc Idelson introduction:

Marc Idelson (尹丹森)'s research focus is on comparative Sino-Western knowledge management.

Marc's past teaching record, at Essec Business School (高等经济商业学院), Peking University (北京大学) and Nottingham University (諾丁漢大學), includes stewardship of 171 business plans for new ventures and 140 IB (國際企業) plans for existing ventures to enter new countries, drawn up by 670 students (35 nationalities), either individually or in teams of 3 to 7 members. Marc's educational philosophy emphasises personal development rather than mere instructional knowledge transfer.

A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (巴黎综合理工学院), Telecom ParisTech (国立巴黎高等电信学校), and HEC Paris (巴黎高等商業研究學院), Marc is a past member of ACM Siggraph (美国计算机协会计算机图形专业组), IEEE (電機電子工程師學會), ISACA (信息系统审计与控制协会), and Transparency International (透明国际).

Prior to joining academia in 2006, Marc started work in 1987 at a software start-up now part of SAP (SAP公司) and of IBM (IBM), then held newly created senior IT positions in the Allianz (安联) and BNP Paribas (法國巴黎銀行) groups in Asia and in Europe.
