The crypto ecosystem - Blockchain, Crypto, Metaverse and Web3 related organizations and activities - has been growing at an unprecedented rate over the past year in the Middle East region.
Many projects and startups have contributed to this growth. These include global protocols and exchanges but also tokenisation platforms, Middle East grown exchanges, and brokers.
Local entrepreneurs, startups, investors, enterprises have benefited from local and international talent, capital and infrastructure. Particularly, blockchain initiatives have been supported by future proofing regulatory frameworks and start-up enablers (venture capital, private equity, angel investors, collectors, and incubators).
The webinar will cover the current driving forces in the Middle East blockchain economy and how the region differentiates from other established global hubs. The panel composed of high profile web3 experts will offer different perspectives of this fast moving environment, with a regulated crypto native custodian, an early stage Web3 & AI venture capital fund and a privacy protocol for DeFi.

 | Cinderella Amar, Glass Ventures, Managing Partner & Co-foudner Cindy is a seasoned financial professional with over 15 years of experience in Capital Markets including in the Web3 space gained through 7+ years of hands-on experience. She has a proven track record in the Hong Kong tech scene in building and scaling successful businesses. Implemented cutting-edge AI chatbots to streamline workflow which substantially increased the P&L of the trading desks. She is also advising and partnering with Large Digital Assets Hedge Funds, Market Makers, Asset Managers, Bitcoin Miners, Protocols and Crypto related technologies start-ups. Cindy is well-versed in the investor landscape in APAC and CEEMEA. She relocated from Hong Kong to Dubai in early 2022 to lead the development of Matrixport, a large digital asset manager Headquartered in Singapore with over $[10] billion AUMc at peak. She is now launching an early-stage Web3 & AI Venture Capital Fund: Glass Ventures. A firm with existing impressive track record that already boasts a portfolio of successful vintage investments.  | Sebastian Widmann, Komainu, Head of Strategy Sebastian is leading Komainu’s product and service strategy focused on expanding Komainu’s global footprint. Prior to joining Komainu, Sebastian worked as Digital Assets VP at Nomura, where he led the several strategic investments in digital asset startups and spearheaded the Komainu venture. Mr Widmann completed his studies at UCL and conducted research on distributed ledger technology and use cases in the financial services industry. |
 | Dr. Anish Mohammed, Panther protocol, CTO, chief scientist and co-founder Dr. Anish Mohammed is co-founder , chief scientist and CTO of Panther protocol, which provides privacy for DeFi. He has more than 20 years of experience in security and cryptography, half of which was dedicated to researching cryptographic algorithms and protocols at research groups including at Microsoft. He has also worked as a strategy consultant for Accenture and Capgemini. He has advised and worked for various banks and financial institutions including Banko Azteca, AIB, HSBC, Lloyds and Zurich. Anish was an early advisor to Ripple and Ocean protocol, as well as an early member of Ethereum swarm (orange) team, becoming a reviewer of its orange paper. He was also the principle architect for Boson protocol. |
