I know Jean-Christoph for years as an expert on the macro, as well as on the micro-economics aspects of the real estate business in Europe. After heading the global real estate organization of Carrefour, he leads for almost 12 years the Metro property business from Düsseldorf.

Well, this topic should draw attention to all property owners in our Alumni group as well as the ones of you, who plan to invest in real estate.
Jean-Christoph and I would like to have it as an interactive session, so your questions are welcome. A tentative way of structuring the discussion could be:
- Structure of the residential real-estate market
What are the specific structures of the market: which parameters structure the residential real estate market in Germany, like the relative influence of regulations, taxes, demographics, differences between the different regions and cities, and the impact of large investor groups. Aspects such as tenancy law, building law and the promotion of social housing are also particularly important to review.
- Challenges and outlook 2025-2030
The current and the coming challenges: high demand for affordable housing, the promotion of sustainable construction, the social divide, the impact of the Corona pandemic, a bet on price development(s), as well as the effects of the European Central Bank's interest policy.
