Meet with Alexandre Mars, Silicon Valley entrepreneur, family office manager and philanthropist (BACI UK Group) - 27/09/2016
8 Saint James's Square
Dear fellow alumni,
The HEC Investment Banking and Private Equity Alumni Group (Banque d’Affaires / Capital Investissement « BACI UK ») is organizing another informal networking event in London on Tuesday, 27th of September 2016 at 8 St James' Square to strengthen the HEC community working in finance and VC.
For this September event we are delighted to have an outstanding HEC Alumni guest speaker, Alexandre Mars (H99), a serial entrepreneur and engaged philanthropist. Alexandre launched and sold several companies in Europe and in the US to firms like Publicis or Blackberry. While managing his family office Blisce/, he founded the Epic Foundation which connects the world's leading philanthropists and corporations with outstanding organizations focused on youth wellbeing. Alexandre will provide us with some insight into his career as an entrepreneur and his philantropic activities and will tell us how he thinks he is currently disrupting the philantropic industry.
We look forward to welcome you at the SGPB Hambros' office (just a 5-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus) for some drinks and canapes generously offered by our sponsors.
Price: £15.00 for HEC members and guests. As the capacity is limited, please make sure you RSVP. To buy tickets click here: http://ow.ly/7ivO3048CX0
Proceeds from tickets will be used to fund the BACI UK's particpation to the Epic Foundation
Over the past 15 years, Alexandre Mars has launched and sold several companies in Europe and the United States in the business and technology sectors. Alexandre’s passion for entrepreneurship blossomed early; he started his first venture at 17. His last two startups, Phonevalley (a mobile marketing agency) and ScrOOn (a social media management system), were sold to Publicis Groupe and Blackberry.
Alexandre is passionate about fighting inequalities. In 2014, he founded Epic Foundation to bridge the gap between a new generation of individual and corporate donors and organizations supporting children and youth globally. Epic is developing new tools focused on enhancing how donors select, monitor and experience their impact. His vision is to disrupt the philanthropic industry by combining passion and expertise with game-changing technology and partnerships, that's why he is regularly quoted by newspapers and news networks like the Financial Times, Le Monde, BFMTV and the Wall Street Journal.
In 2015, Alexandre was named one of New York City’s top 20 philanthropists under 40 by the New York Observer.
A longstanding member of the technology community, Alexandre continues to invest in high-growth technology companies through his family office Blisce/, including Spotify, Pinterest and Blablacar.
Alexandre lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children, whom he adores traveling with. A devoted practitioner of mixed martial arts, Alexandre loves sports; he ran both the Paris and New York City Marathons.
