HEC Paris & SUSTech University are collaborating to launch a France-China program between Paris and Shenzhen. Shenzhen, a city called “The Silicon Valley of China”, has become a solid choice for entrepreneurship from over the world. But the Chinese legal environment is perceived by non-Chinese as uncertain and complex. This workshop aims at providing :

The objective of this talk series is to introduce the Shenzhen and Greater Bay Area entrepreneurial environment to start-upers and entrepreneurs or potential entrepreneurs based outside China to understand the opportunities of this region. Today we are going to focus on the legal environment of China.

What major legal challenges entrepreneurs may have to face when coming here as a non-Chinese, what important information/ contacts do you need to collect in order to better understand the Chinese legal business environment. For that, we have identified some of the best legal experts in the region…

We will cover the following topics:

- Introduction to a comprehensive legal system that complies with international treaties and conventions;

- Intellectual Property protection;

- How to set up a company in China

- Frequent mistakes done by foreign companies/entrepreneurs in China
