Steinway & Sons, also known as Steinway, is an American-German piano company, founded in 1853 in Manhattan by German piano builder Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg. The company's growth led to the opening of a factory in New York City, United States, and a factory in Hamburg, Germany .
A former Steinway & Sons artisan will take the Alumni group (maximum of 18 people on a First come, first served-basis) through an inspiring journey from design to manufacture. Each STEINWAY is made by hand, consists of more than 12,000 individual parts and has its own musical character.
Master to apprentice, generation after generation, every STEINWAY is built with experience decades in the making — by artisans who take pride and time to humanize a piano still made by hand, who strive for and achieve continuous innovation and improvement
