The HEC UK Governance Club is delighted to invite you to their next panel discussion in partnership with RIAC, the network for the next generation of Arts Trustees:

Charity Trustee: Why not me?

Panel discussion & Breakfast

Tuesday 12th May 2026 at 8:15am

HEC UK House, 43 Parker Street London, WC2B 5PS

Serving as a charity trustee isn’t just for seasoned executives—it’s an opportunity open to curious, committed people at every stage of their career. This event will explore what trustees actually do, why young professionals bring real value to boards, and how to take that first step. This event is a follow-up to a previous breakfast held with RIAC in 2025. Come and hear from a number of alumni and their journey to become charity trustees.  If you’ve ever wondered “why not me?”, this is your chance to find out.

Discover our guest speakers

  • Anna Rowe, Chair, RIAC
  • Benedicte de Gelder, HEC Alumni & Trustee, Arunima Kumar Dance Company
  • Arunima Kumar, Founder, Arunima Kumar Dance Company
  • Franck Marcaire, HEC Alumni & Trustee, Climate Change All Change
  • Linda Lloyd-Jones, Honorary Officer, Climate Change All Change

This event is open to all, whether you are already a NED, trustee, adviser to boards,  executive working with boards, or a young executive aspiring to reaching a board level position.

About RIAC, the network for next generation arts & culture trustees: RIAC is a charity connecting professionals who want to become trustees and non-executives with UK arts & culture organisations looking for new and more diverse talent to fill posts. RIAC is a free service matching candidates with organisations, and each new trustee is mentored by an experienced arts & culture trustee as they grow into their new role.
