Dear members,

We are very pleased to invite you to this Blockchain@HEC event to debate on the following theme :

Status, limits & perspectives of the

incoming institutionalization of Crypto assets

- 04/02/2020 19h-21h -

Hosted by AXA at GIE AXA,

25 Avenue Matignon 75008 Paris

While crypto assets are now recognized as a specific asset class, facilitated by an increasingly positive crypto regulatory landscape (e.g. France) as well as robust storage, custody & insurance solutions, the long-awaited market institutionalization has softly started.

Yet the crypto market remains small compared to other asset classes ($200bn as of December 2019), and its potential to create the open financial system of tomorrow will need a massive institutionalization.

The roundtable will discuss the status, limits & perspectives of crypto asset institutionalization, with the following industry experts:

Pierre Paperon – Honory President Blockchain@HEC

Pierre Paperon, will introduce in 10 minutes the conference by sharing insights on key blockchain highlights for 2020 (e.g. 50 banks working on issuing CBDC - central bank digital currency, China rapid moves, Amazon "bank" ...)

Laurent Benichou – Head of Crypto at AXA Next

AXA Next mission is to steer AXA’s innovation strategy and manage the execution of strategic priorities. AXA Next was one of the first institutional players to launch a blockchain-featured insurance product, Fizzy. Laurent manages the crypto projects at AXA Next and founded the Fizzy project.

Jean-Michel Pailhon – VP of Products at Ledger

Ledger is a market leader in crypto asset security for individuals and businesses. Ledger offers fully customizable infrastructure solutions safeguarding crypto assets for banks, hedge funds and High Net Worth. Jean-Michel has an extensive career in the financial industry, working for Euronext and the New York Stock Exchange prior joining Ledger.

Jean-Marc Bonnefous – Managing Director of Tellurian Capital

Tellurian Capital is an investment management firm covering Fintech and deep tech activities (AI, blockchain, encryption). Jean-Marc is also a Board Director of the Bonseyes AI Community Association and was a board observer at Clearmatics, a core blockchain infrastructure company. Before founding Tellurian in 2006, he was an investment banker at BNP Paribas where he ran the global commodity derivatives business.

A cocktail will follow the presentations to exchange and  continue our discussions.
