Michel Tognini has 4300 flight hours on 80 types of aircraft. In November 1999, he joined the European Astronaut Corps based at the European Astronaut Center in Cologne, and became Head of the European Astronaut Centre in January 2005.
He left ESA for retirement on 1st of November 2011.
