Business Operations Manager, WW Sales Operations (July 2011 – Present)

Provide leadership and direction in the launch and successful adoption of global sales capabilities key to Cisco's evolving Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy -

•Digitization of Goal-to-Commission – currently managing the global change effort to roll out a digital platform that will automate the Goal-to-Commission (New Year Readiness) process (GTM modelling; account transfer; people assignment; goal sheet completion & sign-off). This involves working with the SMEs on to-be-process and scope definition, securing the resourcing to implement the change, planning & implementing the stages of the roll-out of the new platform and providing regular updates to senior management on risks and mitigations.

•Internet of Things (IoT) – managed a program to increase seller readiness for the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) market. Identified & addressed key roadblocks to account sales teams ability to target new customer types and opportunities in this rapidly growing space. This pilot initiative that targeted large enterprise customers in the Germany manufacturing vertical resulted in a 20% increase in pipeline.

•Sales Compensation Redesign – program managed a global effort to align Cisco's sales compensation plans to the company's evolving Go-To-Market strategy (from product-centric to software/services/architectures model) – involved the streamlining and re-design of the compensation plans.

•Mega/Complex Deal Review Process – planned and implemented a global review process for mega/complex deals at Cisco. Liaised with Cisco Deal Desk and the Complex Deal Commercial Office team to define the revamped review process, risk managed the initiative, worked with Client Directors & their account teams to prepare their pitch for the reviews with execs and led the Deal Review calls with executive management (SVP and above).

PMO Lead, Emerging Markets Sales Business Operations (August 2009 – July 2011)

•Established a Program Management Office (PMO), bringing together all project-focused resources and unifying processes and documentation standards.

Program Manager, Emerging Markets Commercial Sales (Sep 2006–Jul 2009) Cisco Systems Inc.–Dubai, UAE

As a member of the Emerging Markets (Middle East & Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia, Latin & South America) Commercial Sales team, I was responsible for the management of a program that identified medium sized companies (250-1000 employees) for Cisco Systems to sell to in the Emerging Markets. My role was both operational and strategic in nature. From an operational perspective, the project managed the acquisition of customer data for profiling by telemarketing agents, the management of the telemarketing activity and the loading of the resultant customer intelligence into Cisco’s main CRM application, SFDC (Salesforce dotcom). Strategically, I worked with the marketing and sales teams to determine the type of customer intelligence required on a regional basis in Emerging Markets. The project collected intelligence on more than 30,000 mid-market sized companies in the Emerging Markets.

May 1999 – December 2004 AIB Capital Markets – Dublin, Ireland

IT Consultant

As a member of the Information Solutions team, I worked on the following initiatives that gave me valuable experience in client support and IT project management in the investment banking industry -

•Implementation and maintenance of a shared services treasury application. This was a high-pressure role and involved the task of providing client support to business users (traders, financial controllers, clerks) in their trading activity. Project enhancement work was also undertaken, from small enhancements to major enhancements and I was responsible for gathering the requirements as well as ensuring the timely design, implementation, testing and release of the changes.

•Design and implementation of IT infrastructures for investment banking clients including Dexia, Sachsen LB, DZ Bank, Generali and Rand Merchant Bank. A typical network would include the client/server architecture, trading platform (Bloomberg/Reuters) and underlying physical network infrastructure, serving offices of 10 to 50 users.

•Development of the overall strategy of the business continuity management (BCM) system of my business unit (BU). This involved regular updating and testing of the business continuity plan for the business unit in Dublin and its’ subsidiaries in Hungary, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Tests involved up to 100 business users across Europe. I then presented the findings of these tests to senior management which contributed towards the ongoing strategy for business continuity within the company.
