HEC Alumni Ventures is teaming up with The Family to deliver a pitching event with X and Centrale alumni.

A great occasion to understand, challenge and network with other HEC alumni interested in startups and entrepreneurship.

We’re inviting you to meet 6 handpicked entrepreneurs who will each have 7 mins to present you their businesses; each presentation will be followed by a short Q&A session.

The pitching session will be followed by a cocktail allowing everyone to network and have informal one-to-one discussions with wine and nibbles.

1. LUKO

Who are you? Raphael Vullierme (raphael@getluko.com)

What's your goal? Our mission: protect your nest

Website: www.getluko.com

Describe your business: An unsatisfied market, home insurance is worth 90 billion euros with a less than 30% satisfaction rate. Luko is a tech product combining ultra low-cost hardware and AI. To prevent accident, secure home, handle claims and reduce home insurance price by 20% through unique acquisition channels.

How it works? In 2 min, stick Luko devices on your water meter, electrical meter and door. Our AI analyse your home activity and prevent flooding, fire, intrusion... alert you by SMS or simply let you know when your laundry is done or your airbnb guest arrived.

To this day, Luko has an industrialised low cost hardware, more than 100 customers and home equipped, pilots with home insurers and a full stack ambition to launch their own insurance product to market in April with MunichRe as a MGA.

Seed capital comprehends 1 million euros committed from Kima and seasoned Insurance Executives (Hiscox, AXA, Generali, Actuary Firms...)

How much you are raising: 1m to 1.2m EUR (800k euros already secured)

 

2. THERAPANACEA

Who are you? Professor Nikos Paragios (n.paragios@therapanacea.eu)

What's your goal? Machine Learning to improve radiotherapy for cancer treatment.

Describe your business: TheraPanacea is an ICT-driven company specialized in exploiting the latest scientific advances in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence & high-performance computing and simulation towards digital, personalized, adaptive medicine that creates advanced software solutions for assisting and guiding cancer treatment in the context of radiation therapy.

TheraPanacea aims to commercialize the first precise and fully adaptive to the patient’s anatomy solution that can effectively unlock the full potentials of modern radiation therapy both in terms of therapeutic and economical efficacy, building a new Treatment Planning System concept for “Optimal” on “On-the-Fly” adaptive dosimetry.

3. LOVE AND CAKES

Who are you? Shirley Francois (shirley.francois@loveandcakes.fr)

What's your goal? Revolutionise the party cake industry with all natural Party Cakes ready for collection or delivery in 1-day only!

Describe your business: Love and Cakes is:

  • An all natural pastry brand providing customers, online and offline, with home-made tasty American pastries.
  • It caters for the identified need to order party cakes and pastries on a very short notice (24 to 48 hours) that is not fulfilled by current pastry shops that usually ask clients to plan ahead (1 week or more).
  • It is currently delivering anywhere in Paris and its suburbs.

Our main targets are families with young kinds and ultra connected Yuppies ready to use websites and apps to buy food.

4.   iFOLLOW

What's your goal? The first connected, intelligent supermarket cart.

Describe your business: This iFollow project follows from the global trend of e-commerce development, which contributes to two major outcomes:

• Strong growth in the logistics sector
• Physical retailers experiencing loss of customer

iFollow technology is based on autonomous robotics: we develop self navigating robots for indoor and outdoor use. This technology allows us to tackle the two aforementioned opportunities with two different products

5. EPPIK

Who are you? Alban Miller MacKay (alban.mackay@eppik.com)

What's your goal? Digitise. Store. Share. AI platform for your family photo albums.

Describe your business: Eppik brings old photo albums back to life. We have combined advances in digital camera sensor technology and AI/ computer vision to develop a process and platform that makes it simple to digitise, store and share your old albums with family and friends.

Eppik aims to disrupt the photo imaging gift market through predictive product customisation. By understanding your past we believe we can offer a more tailored e-commerce experience.

6. MATCHA

What's your goal? Smart digital wine advice dedicated to wine sellers

Describe your business: Matcha provides wine sellers with a virtual smart wine advisor, available through a chatbot or an API based on SaaS tiered-subscription. We are bringing wine expertise & AI technologies together to build scalable and high-quality wine recommendations.

Wine purchase is intimidating, complex and often leads to disappointing experiences for a vast majority of consumers. 

Artificial intelligence is going to transform the wine market by giving access to high-quality and tailor-made wine advice everywhere. After 2 years of product development, Matcha is starting its business trip and needs your support!
